This elopement story is about capturing the placid romance of the desert while showing the strong yet easy-going connection between two people. We chose a tone-on-tone palette of dusty hues with hints of metallic and lucite inspired by the desert landscape and crystalline structure of mined elements in the raw. The location was set at a remote adobe dome in the Chihuahuan desert near the ghost town of Terlingua, Texas. The untamed desert foliage and chalky textured adobe provided a stunning backdrop and we were inspired by the surrounding natural beauty.

We were moved by the big sky of west Texas and its ever evolving "mood" from the early morning sunrise with flecks of coral to the midday contrast of serene blue against scattered plateaus to its final state of twinkles that begin at dusk. We wanted to reflect the sky along with a nod to the fundamental geometry and industrial materials in the work of Donald Judd that is deeply rooted in the nearby town of Marfa.
