Venue Edition - Cactus Moon Lodge

Austin, TX

A glimpse into a venue we love with a creative photographer behind the lens.

Cactus Moon Lodge is a family owned venue nestled in the Hill Country with an incredible approach vista. The entire property and its West Texas ethos are so magical, the energy can’t quite be captured in photos. As soon as we drove through the metal gate (with a beautiful custom cactus design) it was as if time stopped and the hot quiet breeze ushered in a quaint silence that we can see being a subtle backdrop for something as simple as an escape from the city or as special as marriage vows.

The space was originally a home designed by an architect and the attention to light and views was thoroughly planned. Every space both interior and exterior invites gathering, and there isn’t a bad seat in the house. Upon arrival, you will find yourself walking through a lush arbor to the courtyard that doubles as a possible ceremony or cocktail space. On the West side of the main buildings, there is chic pool just waiting to be enjoyed.

The rugged truly Texas views command moments of pause and offer a serene spot to say I do with the tranquil sounds of water nearby. The desert worn ambiance has been created by this family with an eye for design, an appreciation for native landscape, and a sense of jovial hospitality as if they were inviting you into their own home. Every last detail has been curated but everything remains relaxed and inviting so that when planning/designing here, there seem to be a multitude of possibilities.

Venue: Cactus Moon Lodge

With the main lodge suites, casitas, and an airstream on the 26 acres there are great places to rest in the evening. Nestled in the nearby trees there is a clearing that provides a flexible space for a tent build out. With so many well designed details and a concierge approach to events, Cactus Moon Lodge is a place full of heart and soul that you have to see to believe exists.
